La evidente atracción que como humanos podemos desarrollar hacia distintas actividades de nuestra vida diaria es lo que forma las bases al desarrollo de la película. Referente a la afición de autos y carreras, Sean Boswell es un joven de 17 años que conjugando sus seducciones por el riesgo en las pistas y el afán de problemas causados por ello que han permeado su vida llegando inclusive a rotar de lugar de asentamiento. Por lo que su madre decide enviarlo a donde su padre en Japón, estando en dicho país, Sean conoce a Twinkie y a Neela, una joven novia de Takashi, el jefe de una pandilla de jóvenes con el cual Sean tendrá que enfrentarse cargando el peso que Takashi es sobrino de un peligroso jefe yakuza. Sobrellevando derrotas y nuevos conocimientos para las competencias Sean tendrá que demostrar de que está hecho.
